Dioramas and speeches are due June 1: We will present them in class on this day.
Diorama Requirements:
1. Include 3 biotic (organisms) and 3 abiotic (nonliving) factors found in your animal's environment
2. Be original- constructed/made by you (can receive help from others)
3. Be close to scale (no sea horses as big as whales)
4. Accurately depict animal and its environment
5. Have no toxic or stinky materials
Speech Requirements:
1. Describe your animal’s ecosystem (biotic and abiotic factors)-- typical plants, animals, weather, land,
water, climate, temperatures.
2. Describe a day in the life of your animal—what does it eat, what eats it, how does it interact with its
environment, where does it sleep
3. Describe a relationship it has with another population in its ecosystem—you may want to consider what
has the greatest impact on its population. (producer/consumer, predator/prey, parasite/host, etc.)
4. How does human activity purposefully, or accidentally, affect your animal’s existence?
5. Rate your animal’s population—is it in good shape (abundant), rare, endangered, on the brink of extinction.
