Classroom Expectations
Organization
Required each day: (See "Classroom Requirements" tab)
1. Science folder, sharpened pencil, planner, homework ready to be turned in with name neatly on top.
2. Planner: Fill in the planner before leaving class, if no homework was assigned, write what you did in class that day.
Responsibility
1. For ones actions, words, behaviors, and LEARNING
2. Touch only one's own property unless given specific permission to do otherwise
3. Use lab equipment properly
4. Never tip in one's chair or pull a chair out from under someone
5. Follow all directions-written and oral
6. Leave your work area or classroom only when given permission
7. Do your personal best
Grading Policies
1. Daily work is due when the bell rings at the start of class on the day it is due.
2. Late work will be penalized 10% per day late, but no more then 50%.
Absent Work
1. When a student is absent, it is the student's responsibility to consult the classroom calendar & folder, and/or our
classroom website to find out about make up work. The student must gather any worksheets, notes, warmups, etc. out
of our classroom folder and talk to Mrs. Steele to clarify directions or gain additional information about what was
missed.
2. The student should fill out his/her planner for the day(s) missed as soon as he/she returns.
3. Students will have the days stated in the handbook to make up work. If work is not completed by the new due date, it
will be graded as late work. Lengthy absences may require special consideration.
